Type

Headlines and long-form text are set in Fraunces, a variable serif with enough optical-size range to work at both 52px and 17px. Interface text is Inter. Code, metadata, and marginalia use IBM Plex Mono — the monospace carries the "engineer’s notebook" register the design is after.

Build

Content is managed in Payload CMS and rendered from its API; every page on this site resolves from a collection or global. Layout is driven by container queries rather than viewport breakpoints, so components adapt to the space they’re given instead of guessing from the window. Motion is minimal and respects prefers-reduced-motion.

Languages

The site is published in English, French, Spanish, German, and Dutch. Interface copy is translated in full; essays are written in English and fall back to it until a translation exists, so a language never shows you a blank page. The language you pick is remembered, and every page advertises its alternates to search engines.

The assistant

"Ask my AI" is grounded in the content of this site — essays, talks, projects, résumé — pulled from the same CMS, and instructed to cite what it used and admit what it doesn’t know. It isn’t me. It will occasionally be wrong in ways I’d never be, and confidently so.

Privacy

No analytics, no third-party trackers, no advertising pixels. A newsletter subscription stores your email address and the language you subscribed in — so essays reach you in that language — and nothing else: no name, no IP address, no record of what you open or click. Unsubscribing deletes the row outright rather than marking it inactive. Assistant conversations are not tied to your identity. One cookie is set, and only to remember your language.
